Rediscovering My Purpose: How Quiet Seasons Lead to Growth

Dear Village,

As I enter a new season of stillness, I am ready to share what I’ve been doing and what is unfolding in my life. I am reminded that growth happens not in constant motion, but in quiet recalibration when we pause, rest, and listen.

Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself

In the last few months, I have been slowing down to consider what I need in this season: more rest, which began with a week off from work to settle in for the season ; more joy, which has included d playing inspirational music around the house and office, exploring new foods, and picking up a good book every now and again; and last but not least of them all, developing more intimacy with God through prayer, applying forgiveness more abundantly, and loving others more radically.

As these things have been more intentional, so has the overflow of gifts. Just recently, I was awarded a scholarship to study brain health and neuroscience with a focus on faith. By the end of this summer, I will be a certified brain health coach, ready to bring new insights into our conversations here.

As I keep in mind that to be blessed with much means that serving more will continue to be a requirement in the kingdom, I have continued nurturing a newsletter for the past two years on LinkedIn called Adulting Today, now with nearly 350 subscribers. My focus has been on supporting the sandwich generation—those who care for both children and aging parents at the same time. This is the heart behind my growing caregiving blog, where I share practical tools and faith-centered wisdom for millennials and GenXers.

At the same time that I’ve been writing about caregiving, I’ve also been coaching caregivers; something that has brought me great joy and fulfillment. Soon, I will share tools to help folks navigate tough conversations with aging loved ones—something none of us wants to do, but must do if we’re going to remain in our lives while also helping our aging loved ones remain well and safe in the years ahead….

There’s much more work to do, Village, but in the meantime,

If this season is stirring something in you, I invite you to stay connected. Visit the blog at www.lifecoachasha.com and join the conversation  Let me know how I can support you.

Until then Village,

Asha…
